F1 Zandvoort

The first race at that circuit was held on 7 august 1949. Formula 1 was due to return to a renovated zandvoort in may 2020 after a 35 year absence but the event was a casualty of the covid 19 pandemic. Zandvoort was set to host the first formula 1 race on dutch soil in 35 years this season being handed a may slot.

After its huge success it was decided to build a permanent facility.

F1 zandvoort. With a circuit length of 43 kilometres it ranks among the shorter tracks on the f1 calendar. Theres the historic track which famously featured in john frankenheimers grand prix and was the scene of many great f1 moments over the years gilles villeneuves three wheeled lap anyone. Organisers of formula 1s dutch grand prix have welcomed the decision to push back its return to the calendar until september 2021. However it was cancelled due to the covid 19 pandemic.

Zandvoort combines a lot of enticing features for an f1 fan. Hardly anywhere else drivers zoom past the race fans this often. The link between zandvoort and motorsport is taking us back to the late 1930s when motorsport aficionados decided to organise a competition in zandvoort. The race in 1939 was held on a temporary street circuit.
